GW Campus Advisories is the principal method the Office of Public Safety Emergency Management (OPSEM) and the University leadership use to communicate incident related information to the GW Community. In preparation for or during an incident, GW Campus Advisories is updates with th emost recent information. This is also the place to visit for inclement weather updates and school closings.

Frequently Asked Questions:Is there GW graduate housing available?
Yes, there are a few places that GW Housing Programs offers for housing graduate students: Hall on Virginia Avenue (HOVA), the Aston - Law School housing, and Columbian Plaza Apartments. For more information about these residence complexes please click here. I commute to the Foggy Bottom campus often, where can I park?There are a couple garages on campus in addition to available street parking. Street parking can be tricky unless you know the hours for each section. To download a map of available street parking around the Foggy Bottom Campus, click here.
For other parking services or to get a parking validation sticker for a garage on campus, please be sure to contact GW Parking Services. I'm looking for a place off campus to live and a roommate, where can I look?You can actually look right through a housing system which allows you to search open listings and post requests for a roommate. This is maintained in the GW community so you can find local listings and other GW graduate students to live with. Click to search through the Off Campus Housing Service Website.
How can I search for a number or email for someone on campus?
The GW Directory will allow you to search for both people (faculty, staff, and students) as well as departments on campus. Can graduate students participate in intramural sports?
Of course! Graduate students are welcome to participate intramural sports through GW Campus Recreation. Sports available range from racquetball to soccer and Campus Recreation event offers an annual Winter Ski Trip to Canada.
To find out about what sports are available for you to join, check out the website for the Lerner Health and Wellness Center. As a graduate student, do I have access to use the gym?Yes, all GW full-time students have free access to use the fitness areas in the Lerner Health and Wellness Center. While the gym use itself is free, most classes do require you to purchase an extra fitness pass. There is also access to perseonal trainers and nutrition specialists at an extra cost.
What counseling and health services exist for graduate students?
The University Counseling Center (UCC) offers counseling for graduate students in addition to undergraduates. The initial consultation at UCC is free and each addition session is $50.00.
GW Student Health Services offers health insurance plans for full-time graduate students; they provide many services for GW students.
Who represents graduate students at GW?
GradLife, through the Student Activities Center, acts as a resource and an advocate for graduate students at GW. In addition, there are graduate representatives/officers on the Student Association, GW's student governing body on campus. The Student Association is located in the Marvin Center, room 424 and can be found online at http://www.gwstudentassociation.com if you would like to find out how you can get involved.
How can I find out what student organizations are at GW? Are there graduate specific student organizations?
