GW Writing Center

The GW The Writing Center conducts free, one-on-one, 50-minute conferences with graduate students to assist them with course assignments, papers, theses, applications, and resumes.  They can help develop and focus ideas, implement an organizational strategy, utilize evidence proficiently, and clarify syntax and diction.  As in accordance with the academic code of integrity, the Writing Center does not proofread, edit, or rewrite drafts.

The staff of graduate and undergraduate peer tutors successfully completed a 3-credit course in tutoring and the writing process, advocating a  friendly responses and sincere, intelligent advice. 

Located in the Academic Center, 550 Rome Hall, The Writing Center opened for the semester on September 14 and will close during exam week in December.  Hours for the semester are:

Mondays through Thursdays: 9AM - 8PM
Fridays: 9AM - 2PM
Sundays: 7PM - 10PM
*A satellite center located at Echolls Library on the Mount Vernon campus is also available on Sunday nights from 7 PM to 10 PM.
